A Look at HIVE's Launch in Toronto

HIVE recently held its sixth and final launch party in Toronto, on October 30th, hosted by the Canada-Armenia Business Council in partnership with the AGBU Young Professionals of Toronto. The event took place at the new Centre for Social Innovation - Regent Park inside their coworking space housing Canadian startups of all kinds.

The launch brought together a diverse crowd of techies, startup founders, angel investors and professionals from across Canada’s Armenian diaspora. While the Armenian tech ecosystem is still young in Toronto, many young professionals are eager to turn their ideas into fresh startups in the coming year. We look forward to welcoming many of them to apply for our next round of investment.

Those in attendance were encouraged to test out our new online Forum beta and Jobs portal, where users can post articles, share knowledge and ask questions of the community. Attendees at the event had the opportunity to sign up as members on the website to join the conversation online. Today the network has reached over 900 users from across the globe.

As we conclude our launch party roadshow, after events in New York, Yerevan, San Francisco, Boston and Los Angeles, HIVE looks forward to expanding the network and creating new features following our website’s open beta. Stay tuned for upcoming updates as we continue to build a vibrant community and useful resources for Armenian tech professionals.

We will also be announcing our second investment round in the coming weeks and welcome all to apply.
